Dr Christopher Mitchell AM

Chris Mitchell is a Rural General Practitioner and Rural Generalist with over thirty years of experience in Northern New South Wales. He is also a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. This unique blend of clinical expertise and leadership in eHealth and healthcare reform sets him apart in the industry. Since 2012,

Chris has made significant contributions through his consultancy work, including Telstra Health and as the lead of the Adoption, Benefits, and Change team at the National eHealth Transition Authority (NEHTA).

Chris was awarded the Member of the Order of Australia in 2013 for his contributions to General Practice. His career showcases a deep commitment to healthcare advocacy as President of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and involvement in boards like NPS MedicineWise, The Therapeutic Guidelines, and the Remote Vocational Training Scheme.

Chris is recognised for his clinical leadership, governance, strategy, and engagement expertise. He takes a practical approach to healthcare improvement, and his expertise in implementing eHealth changes is a crucial aspect of his professional profile.
