Kate has over 40 years of experience in the publishing realm, having spearheaded the creation of numerous industry publications firmly rooted in the health, medical and wellness sectors. Her journey began with a foundation in healthcare, shaped by nurse training, and expanded through a Bachelor of Business, highlighting a blend of clinical insight and business acumen. This unique combination has enabled her to grasp the complexities of healthcare communication, driving innovation and patient education through the power of publishing.

Kate’s expertise extends across a wide spectrum of areas where she has honed her skills in strategic business development, sales and marketing management and digital technology innovation. Her work has involved developing sophisticated digital platforms to enhance education and engagement, alongside managing mergers, acquisitions and setting up new ventures within the healthcare landscape.

A significant part of her career has been dedicated to identifying unmet needs within the healthcare sector and addressing them through innovative communication strategies and technology solutions. This includes pioneering digital marketing initiatives, leveraging data analytics for targeted engagement and providing strategic guidance on complex tech-related concepts and services. Her experience in stakeholder management, project communications and establishing client-management processes encapsulates her comprehensive skill set in driving business growth and innovation.

As she pivots towards a more focused role in utilising personal data and digital technologies for ‘healthy longevity’, her objective is to create positive social change and long-term growth for businesses in the health and wellness space. Drawing on her co-authored best-selling health guide, ‘Fast Living, Slow Ageing and her work on the slow ageing platform, Kate aims to empower individuals with personalised, data-driven lifestyle programs to improve health, prevent chronic disease, and extend lifespan.

Kate’s personal wellness journey began at the age of 40, when a moment of self-reflection prompted her to take control of her health. This transformative experience not only led to significant personal changes, such as losing 14 kgs and managing depression, but also sparked a desire to help others on their path to better health and well-being.

As a result of her own experiences, Kate created the SLOW ageing brand, a platform that provides readers with information on disease prevention, health risk indicators, and research on age-related decline and disease. Through this initiative, she aims to support women in making informed decisions about their health and lifestyle.

Kate is passionate about improving healthcare systems and collaborates with various organisations, including businesses, non-profits, and education companies, to drive positive change in the industry. She is involved in introducing technology solutions, such as AI-driven systems for longevity planning, to enhance healthcare outcomes and support business growth in the medical sector.
Throughout her career, Kate has worked with several well-known medical and health-related professional organisations in Australia, spanning areas such as GP training and education, medical centre acquisition, publishing and digital health solutions. She has also consulted with key industry bodies, as well as government departments and these experiences have allowed her to develop a network of dedicated healthcare professionals who are committed to their work.

As a co-author of the healthy ageing book ‘Fast Living, Slow Ageing,’ alongside Prof Merlin Thomas, Kate continues to share her knowledge and insights with readers. Her goal is to support the adoption of innovative health solutions that help people lead healthier, happier lives while contributing to positive change in the healthcare industry.
